When you book a session or apply as a notary, we collect the information you submit: your name, email address, phone number, state, document type, and requested session time. Payment is processed by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. During a notarization session, state law requires identity verification and an audio-video recording of the session, which your notary retains as part of the official notarial record.
We use your information only to schedule and deliver your notarization, communicate with you about your session (by email, phone, and text), process payment, match you with a commissioned notary, and meet legal record-keeping requirements. We do not sell your personal information.
Your booking details are shared with the notary assigned to your session and with the service providers that make the service run (payment processing by Stripe, video session and identity-verification providers). Session recordings and journals are held by your notary under their state's retention rules, typically 5–10 years.
You may request a copy or deletion of the booking information we hold about you, subject to legal retention requirements for completed notarizations. Contact us at (424) 450-6387.
Bookings are transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access limited to operating the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information with reasonable administrative and technical safeguards.
